Since 2005, the world’s most advanced dental technology for fabricating porcelain crowns, veneers and fillings has been available at our practice. We are able to provide these latest high-tech restorations with the utmost confidence to our patients by successfully fitting thousands over the years.

This exceptional, state-of- the-art technology assists our dentists in restoring damaged teeth using tooth coloured ceramic crowns, bridges, inlays/onlays or veneers, This can be accomplished in a single visit, which minimises the time spent at the dentist.

How does Cerec 3D CAD/CAM work?

CEREC 3D CAD/CAM, also known as Computer-Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing, is a type of technology that uses a three dimensional, computer and milling machine combined to form one unit. These optical impressions are then transferred to, and displayed on, a colour computer screen where the dentist can then use the CAD technology to design the restoration.

This is the stage where CAM takes over, automatically creating a restoration while you wait. Finally, the dentist bonds the new restoration to the surface of the prepared tooth. This process takes approximately 60-90 minutes.

This is advantageous to you, the patient, as the crown can be made in one appointment which saves time. There is no need for multiple injections, impressions or temporary crowns which eliminates any discomfort. Cerec is also metal free, natural looking and extremely durable.

Advantages of Using CEREC 3D CAD/CAM:
  • CEREC crowns can be made and fitted in a single visit, which saves you time.
  • There is no need for multiple injections, impressions or a temporary crown. This helps eliminate any potential discomfort. You no longer have to wait a week while the restoration is fabricated in a dental laboratory
  • CEREC crowns, inlays/onlays are metal-free, natural looking and extremely durable.

Bridges

A dental bridge is generally used to fill in an area left by one or more missing teeth and is made up of two or more units. Crowns are used to anchor a pontic (“dummy” tooth/teeth) on either side. A bridge is often the alternative to an implant and is used particularly as the treatment of choice for unsuitable implant candidates.

If you are a possible dental bridge candidate, good oral hygiene is essential, especially in the area below the pontic.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin, semi-translucent shells or coverings that are custom-made to fit precisely over an existing tooth. These are permanently bonded to the front of your teeth, which means they are both strong and durable.

Dental Crowns

A dental crown is a restoration, generally made of porcelain, which covers the entire surface of the tooth on which it is cemented. A crown can be placed for a variety of reasons, such as: to rebuild broken or decayed teeth, restoring them to their original size and shape; to strengthen teeth; or to improve the cosmetic appearance of your teeth.

Orthodontics

Orthodontic treatment involves correcting mal-aligned teeth and jaws, i.e. malocclusion. This treatment can be done for aesthetic reasons (to straighten teeth and improve their general cosmetic appearance); or for practical reasons (to create an improved and better functioning bite).

Orthodontic treatments include fixed banding (braces), removable appliances, headgear, elastic bands and others. A comprehensive treatment of fixed braces on both jaws typically runs for a period of between 18 and 24 months with no age limitations. Braces are normally fitted on young teenagers, but an increasing number of adults have found that they are benefitting from the same treatment. Patients can choose between porcelain and regular silver brackets.

Dr Glassman has an impressive 25-year record of treating regular orthodontic cases.
